World of Outlaws Late Models to hit Cornwall Motor Speedway grounds on June 24,

Year 2012 will be a season to remember at Cornwall Motor Speedway. After securing the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at the end of July, promoter Ron Morin as now signed the World of Outlaws Late Models for Sunday, June 24th. This will be their fourth visit in five years at Cornwall. After a year absence in Canada, the WOO Late Models Series, will have a doubleheader weekend in our country with a first visit at Autodrome Granby before making their way on the 401 to Cornwall for Sunday`s main event. As per WOO officials, nearly 20 drivers could follow the 2012 tour, with defending champion, Rick Eckert leading the way with popular stars such as Tim McCreadie, Darrell Lanigan, Chub Frank, Shane Clanton, Clint Smith, Tim Fuller and other talented drivers. With a date in Ontario, drivers from this province will also make their way to Cornwall in attempt to have a good presence in the $10,000, 50-lap event. We could see a new face in the winner`s circle this year as former 2-time winner Josh Richards now pursuing his career in the Nascar ranks and Steve Francis running with another series will open doors to a new frontrunner after the event. Plans are still undecided for the rest of the schedule for that great night of racing but rest assured that Morin and his team will make sure to have a exciting evening for all the fans. Something special will occur at the Cornwall Motor Speedway in 2012! Promoter Ron Morin was able to conclude a deal with the World Racing Group and the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars will make their first ever visit to Cornwall on Sunday, July 29, 2012. It will be a night to remember as all the biggest stars on DIRT will be in the pits. Part of a 4-night visit in Canada which includes Autodrome Granby, Autodrome Drummond, Cornwall and then Oshweken Speedway, will attract all the big names of the World of Outlaws Tour. Legends such as Steve Kinser, Joey Saldana will be joined by defending WOO champion, Jason Meyers, former champ, Donny Schatz, Paul McMahan, Craig Dollansky, Jason Sides, Lucas Wolfe, Chad Kemenah and many others. With perfect track conditions the track record could be shattered as Jared Zimbardi holds the record with 10.9 seconds with a 360 powered engine sprint. Lafrance feature winner and crowned Canadian Nationals champion at Cornwall
Motor Speedway! Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, September 25, 2011 –Martin Bélanger
The Cornwall Motor Speedway was presenting is final event of the season with the completion of the Jiffy 200. A combined 125-lap Modified feature counting towards the final race of the Canadian Nationals and the MrDIRTcar 358-Modified Series. Also the Mohawk Race Parts Pro-Stock Series was ending with a 50-lap event. The Sportsman, Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock were also part of the schedule. Mario Clair and Kayle Robidoux, were on the top row of the 34-car field that took the start in the 125-lap Modified MrDIRTcar/Canadian Nationals feature. Clair took the lead in front of Ladouceur followed by Yan Bussière. Bussière was really strong on top passing both cars on the same lap and grabbed the lead on lap 4. The leaders quickly got into traffic on lap 8. Matt Billings brought the field together on lap 11 has he had some issues with his car. Bussière stays in front as Danny Johnson that started 24th was now flirting with the top 5. In the front, Stéphane Lafrance was using the same lane as Bussière and got closer to the leader with 22 laps completed. Billings brought the second caution on lap 28. On the following green, Kayle Robidoux rolled over in turn 3 and the red flag was out on lap 35. The 2 leaders in the MrDIRTcar Series, Danny O’Brien and Danny Johnson, headed to the pits to change a tire. Bussière still in front with Lafrance and Ladouceur behind him with Carey Terrance and Dale Planck being able to pass him for fifth as caution came out on lap 44. Johnson headed to the pits with issues with his left front wheel. With Bussière keeping his first spot, Ladouceur stepped up to second with Terrance, Lafrance and Planck the top on lap 50. Bruno Lepage slowed down in turn 4 and caution came out on lap 54. A good battle for top positions on the restart on lap 57 with Bussière running in front of Terrance as Lafrance was right behind them. Bussière goes too high in the back shoot and Lafrance took this opportunity to grab the top spot over Terrance and Bussière now running in third. Brian McDonald brought the caution on lap 70 and headed to the pits. The 10-minute mandatory pit stop took place in front of the grandstand. [read more] [francais]

success for the Fireball Enduro at Cornwall Motor Speedway! Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, September 11, 2011 –Martin Bélanger
The Cornwall Motor Speedway presented the 25th edition of the Fireball Enduro. An afternoon with great action including 50-lap races for ladies 4-cylinders, 4-cylinder men, 6 cylinders and 8 cylinders vehicles. This event is always a crowd please as the stands were full and nearly 300 cars in the pits. The afternoon started with the ladies 50-lap event, a field of 38 cars started the 50-lap race. Jodi Pynenburg finished on top with close to 20 cars being able to finish the race. The men`s 6 cylinders took the track next with 64 cars taking the initial green in the 50-lap event. Michael Duval won the race with more than 20 cars finishing the race. A total of 75 cars took the green in the 4-cylinder feature race, a big pileup in turn 1 after only a few lap with cars stopped all around the track made for a challenging race, and Matthew Pynenburg won the race. The 8 cylinders were next on the track as 53 cars took the green in the 50-lap race, these drivers got to high speeds around the halfway point and it was another entertaining race. Luke Marti was the winner of this feature. The last event of the day was a second 50-lap 4 cylinders race with 70 cars taking the initial start. Matthew Pynenburg had a perfect day in this category by winning his second race. The 2011 season will end in fashion as the Jiffy 200 will be postponed to the afternoon of September 25th. On the schedule, the heat races for Sportsman, Modified and Pro-Stock along with the 125-lap mixed Canadian Nationals and Mr DIRTcar Series, it will also be the last race of the Mohawk Race Parts Pro-Stock Series will also end with a 50-lap event. Jiffy 200 is postponed to September 25 at Cornwall Motor Speedway! Cornwall, Ont – Wednesday, September 7, 2011 –Martin Bélanger
Good news for the dirt track racing fans, an agreement was completed today and the Jiffy 200 was postponed to Sunday, September 25 starting at 2pm. Several negotiations and discussions occurred in the last few days and promoter Ron Morin was able to conclude a deal in order to please all the fans. In the Modifieds, new drivers will be able to join the field as only the time trials were completed before the rain came in. These drivers will be added at the end of the heats. There will be a lot on the line in the 125-lap 358-Modified feature race; the Canadian Nationals Series will end on Sunday. Stephane Lafrance is currently in good position to claim a second trophy at Cornwall. Lafrance needs to show up on Sunday to be crowned the 2011 track champion and currently has a 42-point lead over Mario Clair in that series, Claude Brouillard, Dale Planck and Joel Doiron are currently completing the top 5. The 100% participation draw for this series will occur on that day, all Modified drivers that were present on May 22, July 31 and September 4th, will be eligible to win prizes valued at $13,000 which include a Bicknell chassis and 2 VP Fuels drums. The MrDIRTcar 358-Modified Series will also be part of the afternoon of racing with the fifth race of the series. At the time of this press release, Danny O’Brien is the leader in the series over Carey Terrance, Mat Williamson, Danny Johnson and David Hebert. This top 5 could change by the time this race happens on September 25. Joey Ladouceur is currently in the same position as Stéphane Lafrance, he secured his 2011 Pro-Stock points title. Ladouceur also has a comfortable 79-point lead in the Mohawk Race Parts Series as he won the first 4 events. Only 1 point separates Stéphane Lebrun and Corey Wheeler for second. Louie Jackson and Stéphane Lemire, holds on the fourth and fifth positions. Cornwall averaged over 20 cars this season; we can expect a higher number of participation for this 50-lap event. The deadline to collect points was September 4th, the points championship are now over in all classes. The Sportsman drivers will race in a 20-lap event, Semi-Pro in a 15-lap race and the Mini-Stock in twelve. Even if heats race are completed in some classes, officials will accept new drivers in these categories, they will be place at the end of the field. Chris Herbison won the Sportsman championship in front of Shane Pecore and Jeff Philipps. In the Semi-Pro, Kevin Fetterly won the Semi-Pro title over Michael McCargar and Wes Bilmer. For the Mini-Stock, Ernie Cree was declared champion in front of Mike Gaucher and Mathieu Aubin. General admission will cost 30$ for adults with Students 17 and under and seniors paying 22$; children 12-years old and under are always admitted for free. Pit admission will be 40$. The long awaited Jiffy Auto Services 200 is finally arrived as it will be the last night of points in all divisions along with a spectacular 125-lap Modified feature event with high stakes on the line with end of the Canadian Nationals Series and the 3rd series race of the MrDIRTcar 358-Modified series. The Mohawk Race Parts Pro-Stock Series will also be completed with a 50-lap event. The Sportsman, Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock will also be on hand. There will be a lot on the line in the 125-lap 358-Modified feature race; the Canadian Nationals Series will end on Sunday. Stephane Lafrance is currently in good position to claim a second trophy at Cornwall. Lafrance needs to show up on Sunday to be crowned the 2011 track champion and currently has a 42-point lead over Mario Clair in that series, Claude Brouillard, Dale Planck and Joel Doiron are currently completing the top 5. If you are looking for a great night of racing at a low price, the Cornwall Motor Speedway is the place to be this Sunday night with a total of 8 features presented for only 12$ in general admission, probably the best deal of the season! The Patriot Sprint Tour will be back to compete in a 25-lap feature race, this event was postponed from July. Two other features will start the evening as the Semi-Pro will make a third attempt to start the 25-lap special event. The Sportsman will also have 19 laps to complete from their August 14 show. Along with these 3 postponed events, a full show involving all five regular classes is on the racing card. The Modified, Sportsman, Pro-Stock, Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock will have regular events counting toward the championship that will end during the Labor Day Classic on September 4th. Stephane Lafrance leads the way in the Modified championship with 697 points, a 24-point lead over former track champ Carey Terrance. The Modifieds were able to complete the Doiron Engineering Cup, 3-race series involving the Cornwall drivers. Kayle Robidoux was crowned the 2011 champion over Stéphane Lafrance and Joel Doiron. The ODLM, will not be rescheduled this year because of scheduling conflicts. The Cornwall Motor Speedway will be the host of the Ontario DIRT Late Models this Sunday night as this spectacular series will in Eastern Ontario for the weekend. The Modifieds, Pro-Stock, Semi-Pro with 2 features including a 25-lap event and the Mini-Stock will also be on the racing card. Greg Oakes is the current leader in the ODLM championship in front of his long time rival Chris Ross, only 3 points separates both drivers, the 2011 champion will be crowned at Cornwall after the 35-lap event. The first 2 races attracted an average of 25 cars; the same field is expected this Sunday at Cornwall. The Modifieds will again have an epic 30-lap battle in order to gain points for the coveted championship title. Stéphane Lafrance is the leader with 24 points more than Carey Terrance; both drivers had completely different results this past Sunday, giving Lafrance some breathing space in the lead. Points are still really close between Terrance and Laurent Ladouceur in fifth as 18 points are separating Terrance, Joel Doiron, Tim O’Brien and Ladouceur. After a week off, the Pro-Stock class will be back with an action packed 20-lap race. Joey Ladouceur continues to lead the way with a 66 points edge over Corey Wheeler and 108 points on Dave Bissonnette in third. The Semi-Pro class will be very busy as they will start the evening with the postponed 25-lap feature from last week; a 15-lap event is also on the schedule. Gage Morin winner at the Cornwall Motor Speedway! Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, August 14, 2011 –Martin Bélanger
The Cornwall Motor Speedway presented a full show of Modified, Sportsman along with 25 laps feature race for the Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock classes. The Eastern Ontario Vintage Modified Club was also on hand on Cayer Motor Sales Night. Gage Morin takes the early lead in the 30-lap Modified feature race over Pat Cashman and Brian McDonald. Morin gets a comfortable lead over the field with 10 laps completed. The first caution came out on lap 12 for an accident between Laurent Ladouceur and Brian McDonald. On the restart, Morin still in front with Kayle Robidoux and Stéphane Lafrance making their way through the top 3. Morin still the leader at the halfway point with Jeff Sykes and Joel Doiron completes the first five with Robidoux and Lafrance between them. Ladouceur brings the caution on lap 23. Morin really fast in first leads the final laps to capture his first feature of the season over Robidoux, Lafrance, Sykes and Doiron. In the 25-lap Mini-Stock feature, Dave Seguin took the lead over Mathieu Renaud and Trevor Gaucher. Seguin leads the first half of the feature when Mike Gaucher passes him. Séguin and Trevor Gaucher got together on lap 19 as they were in battle for third spot. Mike Gaucher leads the final laps to win his fourth feature of season over the son-father duo of Ben Nurse and Scott Nurse. After Mother Nature showed her way last Sunday with only the second rainout of the 2011 season, the Cornwall Motor Speedway is looking forward to this Sunday, August 14 as a full show for Modifieds, Sportsman along with 25-lap events for Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock plus the Eastern Ontario Vintage Modified Club and the return of Rocket Roger the stuntman! With only 4 nights of points left for the Modifieds, no one can predict who will be the the 2011 track champion. A slim margin of 28 points separates the top 5. Stéphane Lafrance is currently tied with Carey Terrance as Joel Doiron, Tim O’Brien and Laurent Ladouceur completes the front five. Rookie of the year contender, Chris Raabe along with Luke Whitteker is seventh spot are still in contention with less than 55 points away from Lafrance. Another heated battle is expected in the 30-lap event. The Sportsman will have a 20-lap affair of their own with point`s leader Chris Herbison looking to extend his lead of 43 points over Shane Pecore. The pits were starting to fill up nicely when rain started to come down on the Cornwall Motor Speedway forcing promoter Ron Morin to cancel tonight`s program. After 11 nights in a row with racing, it was only the second program of the year that Mother Nature won after being the winner on opening night. We advise that fans that were at the track, please keep your ticket, it will be good for next weeks show. Next week will be another special night as the Vintage Modifieds will be on the schedule as they were rescheduled from their original August 28. A complete race program including Modified, Sportsman, and Semi-Pro along with an extended 25-lap Mini-Stock feature race will be on the program. Planck wins the Canadian Nationals/ MrDIRTcar 358-Feature race at Cornwall Motor
Speedway!
Cornwall, Ont – Sunday , July 31, 2011 –Martin Bélanger
A big night of racing at Cornwall Motor Speedway with the second race of the Canadian Nationals along with the MrDIRTcar 358-Modified Series. A great field of 43 cars were in the pits. The Pro-Stock, Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock had regular events on Jiffy Auto Services and Pennzoil. Tommy Flannigan and Danny O’Brien were on the first row of the 30-car field that took the initial green in the 100-lap 358-Modified Series. O’Brien took the early lead as Stéphane Lafrance charged for the second spot on lap 2. Danny Johnson moved up to third 2 laps later with Dale Planck right behind Johnson. Johnson and Planck were able to pass Lafrance before the caution came out on lap 10. O’Brien kept the lead over Johnson as a good battle was going for fifth between Pat O’Brien and David Hébert as Flannigan went slowly to the pits on lap 20. Johnson grabbed the lead as Planck followed him sending O’Brien to third with 26 laps down. Mark D’Ilario stopped in turn 2 on lap 29 and second caution came out. Johnson and Planck quickly got away from the rest of the field as a 3 way battle involving Lafrance, Danny O’Brien and Brett Hearn, the Corporate Jet won the battle over Lafrance and O’Brien but Lafrance charged back from the high side but Hearn managed to stay third with 55 laps to go. At the halfway point, Johnson, Planck, Hearn, Lafrance and Danny O’Brien were the top 5 as the leaders got into heavy traffic. Planck dove inside of Johnson and took command on lap 54. Planck a got great lead over Johnson as Hearn got close to him with 30 laps to be completed. Hearn got by Johnson with 75 laps in the books as Lafrance and O’Brien were in battle for fourth with Carey Terrance who made his way through sixth after starting last. Planck was wicked fast as he lapped up to 8th place with only 15 laps to go. The yellow lights were out on lap 91. Planck got a good jump with Lafrance got third as Carey Terrance was now in fifth. Terrance made a late charge to pass Johnson for fourth on the last lap. Planck got to the finishing line first in front of Hearn, Lafrance, Terrance and Johnson completes the top 5. In the 20-lap Pro-Stock feature, David Papineau got ahead first and led for the first five laps as Ghislain Valade got the lead with Dave Bissonnette in third. Valade was alone in front with 5 cars racing together for top 6 positions as the feature got to the halfway. George Renaud got second with Bissonnette still in third as Corey Wheeler charged from the top and took third. The first caution came out for an accident on lap 14. On the restart, Renaud and Wheeler got by Valade as he headed to the pits with 3 laps to go. Joey Ladouceur got into the leaders as he took third on the last lap. The Modifieds will have a busy night and double incentive to participate in the 100-lap feature event. The 2nd race of the Canadian Nationals will be mixed with the visit of the MrDIRTcar 358-Modified Series race. The Pro-Stock, Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock will share the track with the Modifieds on that night sponsored by Jiffy Auto Service and Pennzoil. In the end of May, the first race of the Canadian Nationals was run and 36 modifieds showed up as Stéphane Lafrance had won a thriller over Mario Clair and Brandon Sweet. With points given for this series along with the MrDIRTcar Series and $4,000 on the line, a bigger field of cars is expected for this race. Brett Hearn is expected to lead a pack of superstars’ drivers such as Pete Bicknell, Danny O’Brien, Dale Planck, David Hébert, Mario Clair and company. Several Quebec along with Western and Eastern Ontario and Northern United-States drivers will be in the Cornwall to compete against the locals such as Lafrance, Ladouceur, Doiron, Terrance, Tim O’Brien and many others. Lafrance is in the lead in the Canadian Nationals with a 7-point advantage over Mario Clair in second. Brandon Sweet is third followed by Chris Raabe and Jean Boissonneault in fifth. The first event of the MrDIRTcar 358-Modified series was started in Merrittville until the remainder of the feature was postponed to Monday, August 1st. Several drivers will want to use Cornwall as a good starting point in that coveted series chase. The Pro-Stock will also be on the schedule card with a regular 20-lap event; Joey Ladouceur continues to lead the way in the always competitive full-fender category. The Semi-Pro with 15 laps and Mini-Stock will twelve will also be included in this great night of racing. Cornwall Motor Speedway race fans had a great deal on their hands tonight with 7 features for the price of 5 as the Modifieds and Pro-Stock had double features because of last week`s rainout. The Sportsman, Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock were also on the racing card on Fence Depot night. In tonight`s 30-lap Modified feature, Chris Raabe was the first leader with Bruno Lepage and Kyle Dingwall behind him. Stéphane Lafrance brought the caution on lap 7 as he stopped in turn 2. Raabe still in the lead with Kayle Robidoux using the high groove to take second over Lepage, as a multi-car accident occurred in turn 2 on lap 10. Raabe had company as Robidoux was on his side; they ran together for 3 laps until the yellow was out for Lafrance who headed to the pits. On the following green, Robidoux took the lead over Raabe while Brian McDonald passed Lepage for third. The yellow was back out on lap 18 for Pat Cashman. Robidoux still in front with Raabe second as McDonald and Carey Terrance exchanged the third spot; Jeff Sykes brought the caution on lap 23. With a severe thunderstorm hitting the Speedway last Sunday evening, promoter Ron Morin had to cancel the rest of the evening which included 4 features of Modifieds, Pro-Stock, the Patriot Sprint Tour and Lightning Sprints. Phone calls were made this week and decisions were taken. The July 17th Modified and Pro-Stock, will be run this Sunday as they will start the evening. The Patriot Sprint Tour feature will be completed on Sunday, August 28 along with a full show in all 5 regular categories. The Vintage Stock-Cars were scheduled for that evening; they will be rescheduled to August 14th as the Pro-Stock will have the night off. Unfortunately, the Lightning Sprints event will not be rescheduled, a date could not be decided and Cornwall is looking in having 2 nights for them in 2012. With 2 Modified features, some positions could change. Stéphane Lafrance currently holds the lead with 34 points over Laurent Ladouceur who has one small point over Carey Terrance. Tim O’Brien is fourth with 7 points behind Terrance. Joel Doiron has a good season running in fifth. With double points on the line, changes are prescribed! ¸ Same situation in the Pro-Stocks, Joey Ladouceur is alone in front but only 30 points separates other positions in the top 7. Another great night of racing at Cornwall Motor Speedway with the Patriot Sprint Tour in town for their annual visit along with the first visit in a long time for the Lightning Mini-Sprint Series. A full field of Sprint Car in both classes were on hand as the Modifieds, Pro-Stock and Mini-Stock also saw some action as they had regular feature on Nortrax sponsored night. In the 12-lap Mini-Stock feature, Daniel Desnoyer got the early lead and led the first 6 laps. Desnoyers built himself a sizeable lead as Mike Gaucher and Ben Nurse were going into battle for second. Gaucher brought the caution with 2 laps to go as point`s leader Ernie Cree was now in third spot. Desnoyers led the final dash to win his second feature in a row in front of Cree and David Seguin completed the podium. A thunderstorm came in just as the Patriot Sprint tour cars, were pushed on the track. The Modifieds and Pro-Stock features will be completed next week. The Patriot Sprint Tour and Lightning Sprints groups will be in discussion with Cornwall management to reschedule the feature races later on during the season. Sprint Car fans will be pleased to hear that Cornwall Motor Speedway has booked two classes of Sprint cars this Sunday, July 17 as the Patriot Sprint Tour and Lightning Sprints will be on hand along with a full show for the Modifieds, Pro-Stock and Mini-Stocks presented by Nortrax. The Patriot Sprint Tour will make their annual trip to Cornwall this Sunday and will bring several Sprint Car drivers including Tour leaders Jared Zimbardi, Don Adamczyk, Tim Kelly, Scott Kreutter, Brian Howland, Mitch Brown and Dain Naida. Local runners, Brian McDonald, Devin Caron, Lee Ladouceur should be in the pits for that event along with Eastern Ontario`s Tyler Rand, Doug Banks, Rick and April Wilson. Last year`s winner Steve Poirier should a lead pack of Quebec drivers that will include Alain Bergeron, Michael Parent and Daniel Lampron. A full field of cars is expected. Along with the PST, the Lightning Sprints will make a first visit at Cornwall after a long absence. This smaller scale sprint car will offer a great show and all the drivers are really excited to compete on the ¼ mile bullring. More than 20 cars are already confirmed, most of the drivers are coming from Eastern Montreal and Centre of Quebec area. The competitive Modified category will have a 30-lap feature race event as the Pro-Stock will race for 20 laps and Mini-Stock for 12. All 5 divisions were in action along with Rocket Roger, a stuntman making great stunts during intermission and after the racing program. Marc Therrien took the lead over the 21-car field in the 30-lap Modifieds in front of Brian McDonald and Gage Morin. Bruno Lepage brought the caution on lap 3. Therrien still in front of the pack with Stéphane Lafrance in battle for third with Morin when Preston Forbes brought the second caution of the race on lap 6. the spotlight on Home Hardware of Alexandria night. Jimmy Phelps and Billy Decker were on the front row of the 30-car field of the 100-lap Super DIRTcar Series feature race. Phelps took the early lead with Sheppard and Pat O’Brien behind him. Yellow flags counted for the first 75 laps of the feature. Sheppard took the opportunity of a caution to grab the lead on a restart on lap 8 with Billy Decker now in third. Brian McDonald brought the field together on lap 10 as he stopped outside of turn 4. The green lights came back on lap 14 with the top 3 remained unchanged as the O’Brien brothers in battle for fourth spot with Danny having the best over Pat. A field of 22 cars took the initial green in the 30-lap Modified feature. Brian McDonald is the early leader in front of Tim O’Brien when Chris Raabe has a left rear flat and caution is out with 2 laps down. O’Brien and McDonald are racing side by side at the restart with Carey Terrance now in third spot over Marc Therrien. McDonald takes a good lead and quickly approaches lap traffic with 10 laps down. Preston Forbes hits the wall in turn 4 and the yellow flag is out at the halfway point. McDonald, O’Brien, Terrance, Stéphane Lafrance and Therrien are currently the top 5. At the restart, Tim O’Brien grabs the lead over McDonald with Lafrance now in third when Danny O’Brien slips out the track on lap 17 and yellow is out, McDonald heads to the pits on that same caution. The Cornwall Motor Speedway was back in full service tonight as all five regular classes were in action for a regular show on Paul’s Auto Body. A field of 20 cars took the initial green in the 30-lap Modified feature race, as Danny O’Brien was the early leader. O’Brien quickly got a good jump in front as Gage Morin and Laurent Ladouceur were in battle for second with 10 laps down. At the halfway point, O’Brien was still in front, Ladouceur, Morin, Bruno Lepage and Jeff Sykes was the top 5. Ladouceur used a restart on lap 20 to take the lead over O’Brien, younger brother Tim O’Brien used the same strategy and took third. Ladouceur led the final laps to win his first feature of the season in front of Danny O’Brien, Tim O’Brien, Stéphane Lafrance and Kayle Robidoux, who made a late charge at the end of the feature, completed the top 5. Ghislain Valade got the early lead in the 20-lap Pro-Stock feature, as they reached the halfway point, the rain started and the decision was made that the feature was complete at 10 laps. feature race. The Modified, Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock had a regular show on Jiffy
Auto Services Night. A field of 30 cars started the 50-lap Mr DIRTcar Sportsman Feature race with Randy Earl the early leader with good battles for second as Chris Herbison took the second spot with 2010 series champion Tim Sears Jr in third. Two accidents occurred in the early stages sending Claude Laurin to the pits. Earl managed to stay in front resisting to a third caution as Herbison and Sears were exchanging the second spot. The leaders got into heavy traffic on lap 13, as Wyatt Mullin brought the field together two laps later. At the halfway point, Earl was still in the lead over Sears, Herbison Bernier and Justin Wright completes the top 5. Jeff Philips had a great start on lap 26 taking third spot after starting 18th. Cornwall, Ont – Sunday , May 29, 2011 –Martin Bélanger Mother Nature finally gave us a break at Cornwall Motor Speedway and the first race of the first race of the Canadian Nationals was able to be done with double features completed in every classes. A total of 317 laps were completed over the night with more than 105 cars in the pit on The Squire Shop Night. A fine field of 30 of the best northeast 358-modified driver took the initial green in the 100-lap Canadian Nationals Feature race. Stéphane Lafrance took the early lead over Justin Lalancette. A first caution came out for Marc Therrien. Lafrance kept the lead when a multi-car accident occurred in turn 4, all the cars were able to get away on their own power. Lafrance still the leader with Laurent Ladouceur having a good jump taking the second spot as caution came back out. With opening night being a total wash, drivers and race fans are eager to start the 2011 season at Cornwall Motor Speedway. With the first series race of the Canadian Nationals for 358-Modifieds on the schedule, a spectacular evening of racing is expected on Minute Auto Wash Night! The Modifieds will compete in a 100-lap event of the Canadian Nationals paying $3,000 to the race winner.
