Canada Day Extravaganza kick starts July at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, June 28, 2015 – Martin Bélanger – A very busy month of July lies ahead for Cornwall Motor Speedway with Canada Day Extravaganza kick-starting the 7th month of the year.

Canada Day Extravaganza will be the first of five shows scheduled in July with the second round of the Bandit Motorsports Sportsman Challenge, a 100-lap event for the Sportsman along with 25 laps Pro-Stock, 35 laps Semi-Pro, 25 laps Mini-Stock and Vintage as the Modifieds will have the day off. Racing will start at 3pm!

On July 5th, the Danny Lefebvre Memorial 25 with highlight the evening along with the autograph and photo session at intermission time. The 25-lap Mini-Stock race is a remake from June 21st, over $3,250 in purse and bonus money for this race!

The Modifieds will be on the spotlight on Sunday, July 12 with the 2nd round of the Bandit Motorsports Canadian Nationals with a 100-lap feature event that will also accumulate points towards the Super Series Starter. A dash for cash along with a complete race program will be on the schedule.

Sprint Car fans will be pleased to see the Patriot Sprint Tour making their first of two stops at Cornwall on Sunday, July 19.

The Canada-USA Lightning Sprint Challenge will conclude the month on July 26 along with the final event in the Ultimate Pro-Stock Series with twin 25 events.

With the month of June now in the books, we can now celebrate the Bandit Motorsports Performer of the Month for June. Chris Raabe won in the Modifieds, with Justin Lalancette being on top of a 3-way tie by collecting the best average finishes in feature event. Ghislain Valade collects the award for a second month in a row as Adam Delormier and Mike Gaucher are winners in Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock.

With five event during the month and several visiting series and classes, race fans will have different choices for the upcoming races!

The Super DIRTcar Big Block Series postponed to August 23 at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

 Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, June 28, 2015 – Martin Bélanger – Mother Nature is obviously against big shows as Cornwall Motor Speedway as inclement weather forced the cancellation of the Super DIRTcar Big-Block event scheduled for tonight.

Rain overnight and early this morning along with rain forecast and cooler temperature for the day left no choice for promoter Raymond Lavergne to cancel tonight’s race program.

The Big Blocks will be back in town on Sunday, August 23rd as a makeup date! We had a busy night planned on that night, we will reshuffle the schedule and will advise everyone in the coming weeks.

Racing resumes on Canada Day with the second round of the Bandit Motorsports Sportsman Challenge on Wednesday, July 1st with a 100-lap Sportsman event along with 25-lap Pro-Stock, 35 laps for Semi-Pro, 25 laps Mini-Stock and the Vintage group. Racing will start at 3pm.

The Super DIRTcar Big Block Series this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Thursday, June 25, 2015 – Martin Bélanger – Mel Valade Backhoe Services presents the return of the Super DIRTcar Big-Block Series as they make their annual stop at Cornwall this Sunday evening.

The Big-Block stars that includes recent Utica-Rome winner Billy Decker, Matt Sheppard, Danny Johnson, Brett Hearn, Tim Fuller, Jimmy Phelps, Pat Ward, Billy Dunn, Larry Wight, Stewart Friesen, Pete Britten, Matt Billings and several others will battle against our local stars in a 100-lap event paying $6,000 to win.

Even with less power than a Big Block engine, the 358 equipped cars are still running strong at Cornwall as history shows some wins from Chris Raabe and Carey Terrance in recent year, even in 2003, the top 3 finishers were all 358 modifieds.

Along with series regulars, we can expect to see Mario Clair, Steve Bernard, Yan Bussière, David Hebert, J-F Corriveau, Tim Kerr and others to be added to the Big Block ranks. This event will attract a quality field and should be the biggest one so far in 2015 at the speedway.

A full show for the other divisions is on the schedule with the Sportsman having a 25-lap event, Pro-Stock 20 laps, Semi-Pro 15 and Mini-Stock 12 laps respectively.

General Admission costs will be 30$ for adults, 15$ for seniors over 65 years old, kids 16 years and under will be 2$ with pit admission priced at $40. Pit gate will open bright and early at 11:30am to allow hauler parking with the main gate opening at 3:00pm and the time trials will start at 6:30pm.
