Race for the Cure Sportsman Series and Quebec Mini-Modifieds this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont –Thursday, August 4, 2016 – Martin Bélanger – The Sportsman division will be the headline on this coming Sunday as the 2nd round of the Race for the Cure Sportsman Series will be in action along with the initial visit of the Quebec Mini-Modified group and a complete race program.

During the initial round, Shane Pecore had led wire to wire in front of Justin Lalancette and Martin Pelletier who finished on the podium. Another great field of cars is expected for this 100-lap event paying a nice $2,000 to the winner.

The Mini-Modified Association of Quebec will make a first appearance at Cornwall. We are the only Ontario based track to be visited by the series. We are expecting between 12 and 15 cars for this event, the cars are a smaller replica of our Modified and Sportsman and are run with a Rotax 500cc snowmobile engine.

After a big Sunday last week, the Bandit Motorsports Modifieds will have a regular evening. With his win on Sunday, Mario Clair gained a few points over current leader Carey Terrance as only 15 points are between both drivers. Chris Raabe is also involved in the chase as he is only 20 points behind Terrance. With 5 programs left, there is still a lot of racing to determine the champion!

The Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock will also have a regular evening as the championship is really close with Roch Aubin leading with a slim 8-point margin over Stephane Lebrun and 16 points over CD Beauchamp. Both drivers were able to gain points on Aubin during last Sunday.

The Polar Sound DJ Services Mini-Stock will run a 12-lap event as Bob Ray is alone in front. Hopefully, Francis Blanchette can rebound from his disqualification from last week, Blanchette had won the last 3 events.

The pit gates will open at 3pm and costs will be 30$ in the pit area. General admission will open its doors at 4pm and costs will be $20 for adults, 10$ for seniors and only 2$ for 16 years old and younger. Time trials will start at 6:30pm for Sportsman as the first heat will be run at 7pm.
