Patriot Sprint Tour this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Thursday July 16, 2015 – Martin Bélanger – The Patriot Sprint Tour will make their first of two visits at Cornwall in 2015 on Rutters Elevators Night along with a complete race program as the Mini-Stock will have a night off.

Sprint Car fans will be pleased to see the Patriot Sprint Tour twice this season. With two shows scheduled over the weekend with a stop the night before at Brockville, this should attract a strong field of cars.

Sammy Reakes IV currently leads the championship in front of Kyle Drum, Steve Collins, Jared Zimbardi, Steve Hutchinson, Dave and Scott Just, Tyler Graves and Scott Kreutter. This group of drivers should be joined by the following Quebec and Ontario residents such as Steve Poirier, Michael Parent, Alain Bergeron, Dany Bilodeau, Lee Ladouceur, Jamie Turner, Glen Styres, April Wilson and Keith Dempster. Other drivers will join the field for the $2,000 to win event.

In the Bandit Motorsports Modified division, Carey Terrance leads the way with a 28 points edge over Stephane Lafrance and 78 points on Kyle Dingwall. Points are really close between the third and sixth position with only 19 points separating Dingwall, Brian McDonald, Lee Ladouceur and Gabriel Richer. The championship battle is far from over!

The points chase is similar in the Wheeler-Forget Royal Lepage Sportsman division with Corey Wheeler on top with only a 46-point difference between 1st and 6th. Wheeler, Ryan Stabler, Justin Lalancette, Louie Jackson, Joey Ladouceur and Jessica Power are currently forming the front 6. A 25-lap event is scheduled for them.

A battle between three drivers between Dave Bissonnette, Ghislain Valade and George Renaud is going on in the Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock with only 14 points between the 3 drivers as they will continue their good run in the scheduled 20-lap race. Former track promoter Ron Morin will make a return to racing action this Sunday, running in Dave Bissonnette’s second car.

The Polar Sound DJ Services Semi-Pro will complete the busy schedule. Earlier this week, Management recalled the agreement taken early this winter about the car count in the division, hopefully the drivers will respond in a positive way for the 15-lap event.

Admission costs will be 20$ for adults in general admission, 10$ for seniors and only 2$ for kids 16 years and under. Pit entry costs will be 30$. The gates will open at 3pm to allow hauler parking and general admission gates will open at 5:30pm with the first qualifying race at 7pm.

Le Patriot Sprint Tour ce dimanche au Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – jeudi 16 juillet, 2015 – Martin Bélanger – La série Patriot Sprint Tour en sera à une première de 2 visites en 2015 en cette soirée commanditée par Rutters Elevators. Un programme complet sera à l’horaire alors que les Mini-Stock auront congé.

Les amateurs de Sprint Car seront comblés avec la venue du Patriot Sprint Tour qui en sera à une première de 2 visites cette saison. Ayant deux épreuves dans la série canadienne au cours de la fin de semaine avec un arrêt à Brockville la veille devrait attirer son lot de pilotes.

En Modifié Bandit Motorsports, Carey Terrance détient présentement une avance de 28 points sur Stephane Lafrance et 78 points sur Kyle Dingwall. Les points sont très serrés entre la 3e et 6e position avec seulement 19 points séparant Dingwall, Brian McDonald, Lee Ladouceur et Gabriel Richer. La course au titre est loin d’être terminée!

Le championnat est similaire en Sportsman Wheeler-Forget Royal Lepage. Corey Wheeler mène le bal avec seulement 46 points séparant les 6 premiers qui inclut également Ryan Stabler, Justin Lalancette, Louie Jackson, Joey Ladouceur et Jessica Power. Une finale de 25 tours est prévue pour eux.

Une bagarre à trois entre Dave Bissonnette, Ghislain Valade et George Renaud a présentement lieu dans la classe Pro-Stock Alexandria Home Hardware avec seulement 14 points entre les 3 coureurs. Une finale de 20 tours sera à l’horaire. L’ancien promoteur de la piste Ron Morin effectuera un retour à la compétition ce dimanche dans la 2e voiture de Dave Bissonnette.

La classe Semi-Pro Polar Sound viendra compléter le programme de la soirée. Plus tôt cette semaine, la gestion a rappelé aux pilotes l’entente prise cet hiver concernant le nombre de pilotes en piste. Espérons une réponse positive de ceux-ci pour la finale de 15 tours.

Le coût d’entrée sera de 20$ pour l’admission générale, 10$ pour les personnes d’âge d’or et seulement 2$ pour les enfants de 16 ans et moins. Il en coûtera 30$ pour accéder aux puits. Ces derniers seront ouverts dès 15h00 pour le stationnement des remorques, l’admission générale ouvrira ses portes à compter de 17h30. La première qualification aura lieu dès 19h!

Billy Dunn collects first win in the Bandit Motorsports Canadian Nationals at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, July 12, 2015 – Martin Bélanger – An important evening for the Modifieds as the second round of the Bandit Motorsports Canadian Nationals with a 100-lap event for them along with a full program in all divisions and a Dash for Cash in the Sportsman. Co-Op Embrum –Dekalb.

In the 100-lap Bandit Motorsports Canadian Nationals, David Hebert took the early lead over Ryan Arbuthnot with Brian McDonald running in third. Hebert got into lap traffic by lap 10, Danny Johnson made his way into the top 3 in these conditions as we was able to pass Arbuthnot for second with 13 laps completed. The feature had pick up a good rhythm quickly reaching lap 25. Johnson was on the back bumper of Hebert by the 30th lap in the feature. At the halfway point, Hebert continues to lead with Johnson in second, Brian McDonald in third, Carey Terrance and Billy Dunn completes the top 5. As the top 2 ran alone in front a good battle for third as Carey Terrance got the lead. The first caution occurred on lap 62. On the restart, David Hebert kept the lead as Billy Dunn made move to second. Dunn chased Hebert around the speedway and was able to pass Hebert for the lead on lap 73. Dunn was now running alone in front with a 3-second lead over the ONE car. Dunn led the final laps to win his first Canadian Nationals event over Hébert and Johnson completed the top 3.

Dave Seguin takes the lead in the 20 lap Alexandria Home Hardware with Stephane Lebrun in second and Terry Ladouceur in third. The yellow comes out on lap 7 with CD Beauchamp. A great end in the Pro-Stock with Rock Aubin joining the leaders and was running side by side with Lebrun for the lead with Jocelyn Roy also in the mix. Aubin is able surprise Lebrun in the last lap winning his second feature in a row in front of Lebrun and Jocelyn Roy.

The last feature of the evening involved the Wheeler-Forget Royal Lepage Sportsman. Corey Wheeler did not waste any time and took the lead on the second lap over Gabriel Cyr and Tyler Givogue. Wheeler leads the final laps as he was never challenged and won a first win over the season in front of Givogue and Joey Ladouceur completes the top 3.

Adam Delormier took the lead in the 15-lap Polar Sound DJ Services. Delormier led all fifteen laps and won his third feature of the season in front of Pascal Racette and Bradley Taillon.

In the 12-lap Polar Sound DJ Services Mini-Stock feature Alexis Charbonneau took the lead over J-F Page and Justin Desrosiers. Page was able to grab the lead over Desrosier and Mike Gaucher joining the lead pack with 4 laps completed. Caution occurred with only 2 laps to go for Shawn McLean. Page led final two laps to grab the win over Marc Dagenais who made a final charge to finish behind the leader as Riley McGonagle.

Another great show next week especially for Sprint Car fans as the Patriot Sprint Tour will be in town for their first of two visits in 2015 along with a complete race program, the Mini-Stock will have a night off.

Bandit Motorsports Canadian Nationals this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Thursday July 9, 2015 – Martin Bélanger – The Bandit Motorsports Modified Division will have one of its biggest events of the season this Sunday, July 12 with the 2nd round of the Bandit Motorsports Canadian Nationals with a 100-lap feature along with a full program in other categories and a Dash for Cash in Sportsman.

Co-Op Embrun Dekalb will present round #2 of the Canadian Nationals Modified Series presented by Bandit Motorsports. The main division at Cornwall will a 100-lap event also counting toward the Super Series Starter event. Stephane Lafrance had won the initial round over Billy Dunn and Danny Johnson. A field of 29 cars had showed up on May 17 for that race and we expect similar numbers for this Sunday. Several invaders are expected for this event.

In the Wheeler-Forget Royal Lepage Sportsman division, the results are now in! Corey Wheeler will start first in the Dash for Cash on Sunday with 922 votes, he will be joined by Justin Lalancette, Joey Ladouceur, Gilles Godard, Mike Stacey and Brianna Ladouceur. More than 6000 votes were completed. Along with the Cash for Dash at intermission, drivers will have a regular 25-lap event.

The points battle cannot be as tight right now in the Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock division with Dave Bissonnette and Ghislain Valade currently tied in first with George Renaud only 12 points behind them. They will have a 20-lap feature event.

Aiming for a first title in the Polar Sound DJ Services Semi-Pro Class, Derek Cryderman is currently in great shape have a 22-point lead over Pascal Racette. Drivers will have a 15-lap event.

After an emotional Sunday with the Danny Lefebvre Memorial 25, we are back to a regular night in the Polar Sound DJ Mini-Stock with a 12-lap feature event.
