Sprint Car Action this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Friday, August 23, 2013 – Martin Bélanger – Sprint Car fans will be pleased this Sunday at three 360 Sprint Car sanction will work together to present an event at Cornwall along with Sportsman, Pro-Stock and the Semi-Pro will have a special 25-lap event and the Vintage Stock Car Club will also be present on Nortrax Night.

The Patriot Sprint Tour, CAOSS and Southern Ontario Sprints will work together this Sunday to present a 25-lap feature; each sanctioning body will use this event to count into their own point’s structure. These drivers will have busy weekend as several of them will travel to Autodrome Granby on Friday and then hit Brockville Saturday before ending their weekend in Cornwall.

We should see some of the best 360 Sprint Car drivers such as top PST runners such as Justin Barger, Jamie Collard, Jason Barney and Jared Zimbardi. They will be joined by CAOSS point’s leader Steve Poirier, Kevin Ward, Jeff Cook and Lee Ladouceur. Current SOS leader, Chris Jones will lead the way with Mitch Brown, Keith Dempster, Warren Mahoney and Glen Styres. A solid group of cars is expected for the weekend.

Another visiting sanction will be at the speedway as the Vintage Stock Car club will make their annual trek in Cornwall. Brockville regulars such as Jason Powers, Dave Wilgosh, Steve Arbuthnot, Steve Lackie, Brandon Gregory, Denzil and Paul Billings and several others will make the trip to the speedway for a 15-lap affair.

The Evans Bus Line Semi-Pro division will have a special 25-lap feature event as Derek Cryderman will want to extend his small lead of 8 points over Steve Billings. The best field of the season is expected for this event.

The Tracy Wheeler Storm Realty Sportsman and Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock will also be on hand with a regular event as their point`s championship is almost done with only 2 shows left including this Sunday.

Pit Gates will open at 3:30pm with general admission opening at 4:30pm. The first heat is scheduled for 7pm. General Admission will costs 16$ with children 18 years and under only 2$, seniors 65 and over will be 10$ and Pit Admission will be $27.

Cornwall, Ont – vendredi 23 août, 2013 – Martin Bélanger – Les amateurs de Sprint Car seront servis ce dimanche alors que 3 sanctions Sprint Car 360 travailleront ensemble afin de présenter ce programme en compagnie des Sportsman, Pro-Stock ainsi qu’une finale de 25 tours en Semi-Pro et le Vintage Stock Car club sera également présent en cette soirée commanditée par Nortrax.

Le Patriot Sprint Tour, CAOSS et Southern Ontario Sprints travailleront conjointement ce dimanche durant la finale de 25 tours, chaque association accumulera des points pour sa propre structure. Plusieurs de ces pilotes auront un weekend occupé alors qu’ils voyageront à l’Autodrome Granby vendredi, Brockville samedi et ensuite clôturer le weekend à Cornwall dimanche.

Nous devrions avoir une belle brochette de pilotes Sprint 360 pour cet évènement, les meilleurs du groupe PST tel que Justin Barger, Jamie Collard, Jason Barney et Jared Zimbardi, devraient se mêler avec les meilleurs de la série CAOSS qui incluent Steve Poirier, Kevin Ward, Jeff Cook et Lee Ladouceur. Le meneur en SOS, Chris Jones, mènera un ensemble composé de Mitch Brown, Keith Dempster, Warren Mahoney et Glen Styre. Un excellent peloton est attendu.

Une autre association sera en visite ce dimanche avec le Vintage Stock Car Club en ville pour leur arrêt annuel. Plusieurs pilotes réguliers de Brockville seront en piste tel que Jason Powers, Dave Wilgosh, Steve Arbuthnot, Steve Lackie, Brandon Gregory, Denzil et Paul Billings et plusieurs autres seront présents pour la finale de 15 tours.

La division Evans Bus Lines Semi-Pro aura une finale de 25 tours alors que Derek Cryderman tentera d’augmenter sa petite avance de 8 points sur Steve Billings. Le meilleur peloton de voitures est attendu pour cette épreuve.

Les catégories Tracy Wheeler Storm Realty Sportsman et Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock, seront aussi en piste avec des épreuves régulières, le championnat des points tire à la fin avec seulement 2 finales restantes incluant celle de dimanche.

Il ne coûtera que 16$ aux adultes en admission générale pour assister au programme, l’âge d’or seulement 10$ et les étudiants de 18 ans et moins, 2$. Pour accéder aux puits, le coût sera de 27$. L’ouverture des puits est prévue pour 15h30 avec l’action débutant à 19h00.

Terrance, Herbison, Roy, Gaucher and Plante, winners at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, August 18, 2013 – Martin Bélanger – A gorgeous evening greeted fans and race teams of Jim’s Performance Plus Night as the Modified, Sportsman,Pro-Stock and Mini-Stock had a regular show with the SpeedSTR making their annual visit.

Carey Terrance took the lead in the 30-lap Jiffy Auto Services Modified feature. Laurent Ladouceur and Joel Doiron, quickly joined the leader in the top 3 with 5 laps completed. Terrance got into heavy traffic with 10 laps in the books; he managed to build himself a good lead over Ladouceur. At the halfway point, the top 5 was composed of Terrance, Ladouceur, Doiron, Brian McDonald and Stephane Lafrance. Suzie Langlois stopped in the infield and caused the first caution of the feature on lap 18. On the restart, Terrance in the lead as Brian McDonald rocketed himself to second as Ladouceur was holding on third. Langlois slowed in turn 3 and clipped Chris Raabe who was running fifth with 4 laps to go. Terrance led wire to wire to win his second feature of the season over Ladouceur and McDonald.

The 20-lap Storm Realty Tracy Wheeler Sportsman Feature had Mike Stacey as the early leader. A lap 3 restart helped Chris Herbison getting the top spot as Jessica Power taking second sending Stacey to third. Several cars stopped in turn 3 and yellow lights were back on the feature race. Herbison the leader with Power still second as Joey Ladouceur stepped up to third. Herbison led the final laps to get his second win of 2013 at Cornwall over Power and Ladouceur.

The last feature of the evening was the 20-lap Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock feature; Dan Desnoyers led the first portion as Ghislain Valade got by him for the lead on lap 6. Valade kept the lead until Jocelyn Roy came hard from the top and led the final laps to win his first event at the speedway.

Mathieu Daigle led the field in the 25-lap SpeedSTR, Daigle led the first four laps when he had issues with the front end of his car, giving the lead to Yannick Mathieu.  On the restart, Réjean Plante took the lead over Frederic Faubert and Mathieu slips to third. Plante managed to stay on top and grabbed the win over Pierre Hébert et Yannick Mathieu completed the podium.

The Baxtrom YIG 12-lap Mini-Stock feature saw Francis Aborameh as the early leader but lost his top spot by stopping in the backstretch after 1 lap, point`s leader, Mike Gaucher got the lead. Gaucher never looked back to win his fourth feature of the season over Patrick Paquet and Moise Page.

A busy Sunday next week as Sprint Cars will be in town with 3 sanctions getting together for an event with Patriot Sprints, CAOSS and SOS all as one. The Sportsman, Pro-Stock will have a regular evening and the Semi-Pro will have an extended 25-lap event. The Vintage Stock Car Club will also be at the speedway on Nortrax Night.
