Cornwall Motor Speedway celebrates his 2013 champions this Saturday!

The Cornwall Motor Speedway will put a stamp on his 2013 season this Saturday, April 5th as the annual banquet of champions will be held at the South Stormont Community Hall located in Long Sault. Near 250 invitees will be on hand for the evening of celebrations!

More than 30 different drivers will receive awards and trophies throughout the evening as 10 champions, both track and several series that were competed in Ontario and Quebec will be awarded. Also, five rookies of the year recipients will be named.

The Mitchell Jock award will also be given to a person who has brought an exceptional contribution to the DIRT track racing and also motorsports.

Guest will have a first taste of the 2014 calendar which includes several major events such as the return of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car at the end of July, the annual visit of the Super DIRTcar Big Block Series on June 29th and 3 rounds of the Canadian Nationals including the season opener on May 18. An official press release concerning the calendar will be out in the coming week.

Le banquet des champions 2013, ce samedi 5 avril pour le Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Le Cornwall Motor Speedway va conclure sa saison 2013 alors qu’il va célébrer ses champions de la dernière saison ce samedi 5 avril au centre communautaire de South Stormont situé à Long Sault. Près de 250 convives sont attendus pour cette soirée de célébration !

Ce sera plus de 30 pilotes différents qui recevront trophées et prix au cours de la soirée alors que 10 champions seront couronnés dans les différentes divisions et également séries courues durant la dernière saison en Ontario et au Québec. De plus, les recrues de la saison seront également nommées.

Le Mitchell Jock award sera également remis au cours de la soirée à une personne ayant apporté une contribution exceptionnelle aux courses sur terre-battue et également au sport motorisé.

Les invités auront également la chance de voir le nouveau calendrier 2014 alors que plusieurs évènements majeurs seront de retour incluant la visite des World of Outlaws Sprint Car à la fin juillet, la visite annuelle de la série Super DIRTcar Gros-Bloc le 29 juin et aussi le retour de la série Canadian Nationals avec 3 manches incluant l’ouverture de la saison 2014, le 18 mai prochain. Un communiqué officiel sur le calendrier sortira dans la prochaine semaine.

More than 280 cars for the Fireball Enduro on Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, September 8, 2013 – Martin Bélanger – The Cornwall Motor Speedway had their annual Fireball Enduro, the ‘’WWE of racing!’’ Over 300 cars were in the pits to participate in the different events involving 4, 6 and 8-cylinder type of cars presented by LKQ Headline Auto.

The afternoon started with the 50-lap ladies event, Melissa Brown was the fastest out of the 31-car starting grid.  

The men`s 6-cylinders then took the track with 53 cars taking the initial green for 50 laps of mayhem. A few red flags slowed the feature race as less than 15 cars were able to complete the race, Nicolas Granger from Cornwall picked up the win.xs

The first of two 50-lap 4-cylinder feature was next as 75 drivers took the initial green, only 10 cars were able to finish the race as Matthew Pynenburg returned to the winner circle.

A field of 39 cars took green in the 50-lap 8-cylinder feature race. This event was tough on cars as only 6 of them finished the race. The winner was Brian Hill.

The fifth and final feature of the day saw 89 cars took the green in the second 4-cylinders race. Julien Charette won the final event with around 20 cars being able to complete the event.

This event completes the 2013 season at Cornwall Motor Speedway; we would like to thank all our fans, race teams and our sponsors for all their support throughout the year.
