242 laps of feature events to be completed this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Thursday, July 3rd, 2014 – Martin Bélanger – A very busy evening this coming Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway as the feature from June 22nd will be completed with a total of 242 laps of feature races will be completed on Adam’s Marina  & Action Race Parts Night. A loaded evening that will exceptionally start at 6pm!

The Jiffy Auto Parts Modifieds will be the busiest of all divisions with 3 feature events to be completed with twin 40 laps from two weeks ago along with the regular 30-lap finale. This will have a great impact on the championship as top runners such as Chris Raabe, Stephane Lafrance, Brian McDonald, Kyle Dingwall and Carey Terrance will have to have consistent runs to contend for the title after Sunday’s races.

With his first win last week, Corey Wheeler has passed Shane Pecore in the points chase in the Tracy Wheeler Royal Lepage Sportsman ranks. This category will have two 20-lap event on the schedule has an average of 26 sportsman are in the pits each Sunday night!

Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock drivers will have two occasions to stop Stephane Lebrun`s win streaks. The Gatineau driver has been on tear lately winning 3 races in a row joining Dave Bissonnette on top of the divisions point`s chase as both drivers are tied! Double features will probably separate both competitors.

In the Semi-Pro Laminacorr Industries, having a 25-lap event on the July 6th card might attract a few extra competitors along with the other 15-lap to be completed. Several drivers have visited the winner circle.

After a very emotional presentation last week, the Mini-Stock will only one event of 12 laps as Chris James is now the new leader winning his second event of the season last week.

It will be the best bargain of the season with the amount of racing to be completed this Sunday! General admission price will only be 10$ for adults, 5$ for Seniors 65 years and over, kids under 16 admission is only 2$. General admission gates will open at 4:30pm with racing starting at 6pm sharp!

Cornwall, Ont – Jeudi 3 juillet, 2014 – Martin Bélanger – La soirée la plus occupée de la saison aura lieu ce dimanche au Cornwall Motor Speedway alors que les finales du 22 juin dernier seront reprises avec un total de 242 tours de finales qui seront tournées en cette soirée commanditée par Adam`s Marina et Action Race Parts. Les épreuves débuteront exceptionnellement à 18h00.

Les Modifiés Jiffy Auto Parts seront certes les plus occupés avec 3 finales à disputées incluant un double 40 tour prévue il y a 2 semaines en plus de la régulière de 30 tours. Ceci aura un impact sur le championnat alors que les meneurs tel que as Chris Raabe, Stephane Lafrance, Brian McDonald, Kyle Dingwall et Carey Terrance devront connaître une grosse soirée afin de demeurer dans la course au championnat.

Avec sa première victoire de la saison dimanche dernier, Corey Wheeler a pris le premier rang devant Shane Pecore dans la course aux points de la division Sportsman Tracy Wheeler Royal Lepage. Cette catégorie aura 2 finales de 20 tours à compléter dimanche alors qu’une moyenne de 26 sportsmans est en présence à chaque semaine!

Les pilotes de la classe Alexandria Home Hardware auront 2 occasions de stopper la séquence victorieuse de Stéphane Lebrun. Le pilote de Gatineau est imbattable depuis quelques semaines alors qu’il a remporté les 3 dernières finales, joignant Dave Bissonnette au sommet alors que les 2 pilotes sont à égalité en tête du championnat, avec 2 finales ceci devrait départager les 2 concurrents.

Dans la division Laminacorr Industries Semi-Pro, ayant une finale de 25 tours à l’horaire du 6 juillet devrait aider à attirer quelques pilotes supplémentaire en plus de la finale de 15 tours à compléter. Plusieurs coureurs différents ont visités le cercle des vainqueurs.

Après une soirée haute en émotion dimanche dernier, la classe Mini-Stock aura une finale de 12 tours à l’horaire avec Chris James comme nouveau meneur après avoir remporté une 2e finale cette saison dimanche dernier.

La meilleure aubaine de la saison ce dimanche alors que le coût pour l’admission générale sera de 10$ pour les adultes, 5$ pour l’âge d’or de 65 ans et plus, les enfants de 16 ans et moins seront admis pour seulement 2$. L’ouverture de l’admission générale sera à compter de 16h30 alors que les épreuves débuteront à 18h00.

Matt Sheppard wins the Super DIRTcar Big-Block Series Race at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, June 29, 2014 – Martin Bélanger – The stars and cars of the Super DIRTcar Big Block Series were in town tonight for the Mel Valade Backhoe Service 100, a complete race program was on the schedule as a special presentation was done for Danny Lefebvre before the start of the evening.

Pete Britten and Billy Decker were on the first row of the Mel Valade Backhoe Service 100 part of the Super DIRTcar Big Block Series. Britten was the early leader as Alain Boisvert was running strong in third. The first caution came on lap 7 as Mike Perrotte spun in turn 3. On the restart, Britten lost traction in turn 2 and lost a lot of ground given the top spot to Decker as Danny Johnson who was running second headed to the pits, making some noise in third is Matt Sheppard after starting in the 10th spot. Justin Hears brought the second caution on lap 25. Decker`s still in the lead as two Matt were doing battle for third as Sheppard and Matt Billings were in battle for the last place on the podium. Larry Wight slowed in the backstretch and the yellow lights were out with 62 laps to go. Decker still the leader as Sheppard got to second place with Billings passing Boisvert for third place. At the halfway point, Sheppard was on the backbumper of Decker as Billings, Boisvert and Billy Dunn completing the top 5. Sheppard was able to take the lead from Decker on the following lap as the #91 car of Decker went off turn four and the yellow was out. Sheppard alone in front on the restart with Billings and Boisvert behind the Super DIRTcar Series points leader. Sheppard got into heavy traffic with 25 laps to go in the event, the leader managed to keep his distance with the rest of the field with the feature picking up momentum. A good battle was going on for second place with 10 laps to go between Billings, Boisvert and local runner Kyle Dingwall as they ran together. Sheppard led the final portion to win his second Super DIRTcar Series over Matt Billings and Alain Boisvert who completes the podium.

Terry Ladouceur led the way in the 20-lap Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock Series as Charles-David Beauchamp took the lead on the second lap. Beauchamp slowed on lap 6 and caution was out. Ladouceur back in the lead but got quickly pass by Dave Bissonnette as Marc Lalonde and Stéphane Lebrun followed suit. Claude Parisien slowed the feature on lap 12. On the restart, Lebrun challenged Bissonnette for the lead as he passed him on lap 14. Lebrun resisted to charges from Bissonnette and captured his third feature in a row over Bissonnette and Jocelyn Roy.

The last event of the evening saw Jean-Nicholas Gareau taking the lead over the stellar field of 29 cars in the Tracy Wheeler Royal Lepage Sportsman event. Gareau had a battle with veteran racer Billy Cook as Ryan Stabler joined the leader as two cautions slowed the field in the first half of the event. Stabler used the high lane to pass Gareau for the lead on lap 12. Corey Wheeler was on the charge making his way to second as the caution flag was waved with 4 laps to go. On the green flag, Corey Wheeler took the lead as Joey Ladouceur made his way to third.  Wheeler led the final laps and claimed his first event of 2014 at Cornwall over Ladouceur and Stabler.

In the 12-lap Mini-Stock Feature, Chris James took the lead as Justin Desrosiers and Frederic Faubert were behind him. The first caution came out on lap 9 as Sylvain Frenette lost a wheel in turn 2. James was able to resists a late charge from Desrosiers and won his second feature of the season.

Taking the lead in the early portion of the 15-lap Laminacorr Industries Semi-Pro feature,  Nico Leblanc never looked back and scored his first win of the season over Junior Delormier and Anthony Perron completed the podium.

Next week, a busy night as we will complete the June 22nd show with two 40-lap Modified feature, Sportsman, Pro-Stock and Semi-Pro along with the complete event of July 6, the races will start at 6pm to allow an earlier finish.
