Carey Terrance wins the Modified feature at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, May 25, 2014 – Martin Bélanger – The Cornwall Motor Speedway presented a full show for all 5 divisions as the fans had the chance to meet and greet with their favourite driver at intermission time on Vertical Equipment night.

The Jiffy Auto Service Modified feature saw a pair of #66 on the front row as Kyle Dingwall took the early lead over Carey Terrance. Dingwall led the first 11 laps as Terrance was able to pass him using a lap car to his advantage as Brian McDonald was watching in third. The first caution came at halfway point. On the restart Terrance stayed first as Bruno Lepage had issues with his car on the following lap. Terrance jumped to the front when the green lights were back on and build him a sizeable lead. Terrance led the final portion to get his first victory of the season over Dingwall, McDonald, Gage Morin and Stéphane Lafrance completed the top 5.

Rosco Garreau was the early leader in the Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock feature. Garreau led the way for the first 3 laps as Roch Aubin was able to pass him as Jocelyn Roy was running hard in third. Roy got to second as Aubin pulled away as they reached the halfway point. Aubin is still the leader over Roy and Dave Bissonnette now in third with 5 laps to go. Aubin won the event of Roy and Bissonnette.

Jasmine David and Billy Cook led the field of 22 Sportsmans for the 20-lap Tracy Wheeler Storm Realty feature. Thomas Cook jumped to the lead from his third starting spot as David spun in turn 3 slowing the field down. Cook to the lead as Dillon Sallows is running second with Joey Ladouceur behind him. A great battle for third as Corey Wheeler took that spot on lap 7. Last week`s winner Shane Pecore made his way to the top 5 as the halfway point as Ladouceur battle back to third and quickly passed Sallows for second, Pecore followed Ladouceur`s path in third. Cook had company in front as Ladouceur was on his backbumper as David Andre slowed in the back shoot. Cook was able to resist challenges from Ladouceur to win his first of his career in the Sportsman ranks.

Kevin Fetterly Jr, led the entire 15-lap Luminacorr Semi-Pro feature event and captured his first win of 2014 at Cornwall in front of Junior Delormier and Anthony Perron.

The 12-lap Mini-Stock Feature saw Francis Desjardins take the lead over Marc Chartrand and Sylvain Frenette. Desjardins led the first half of the feature as he got passed by Francis Blanchette who took the lead on the restart; Blanchette led the remainder of the race to capture his first feature of the year over Desjardins and Jean-Francois Page.

Next week, Sportsman and Pro-Stock drivers will have an important night as the DIRTcar Series will be in town for both divisions with 50-lap events as the other classes will have a regular show.

Carey Terrance remporte la victoire au Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – dimanche 25 mai, 2014 – Martin Bélanger – Le Cornwall Motor Speedway présentait un programme complet pour les 5 divisions en cette soirée où les amateurs avaient l’occasion de rencontrer les pilotes durant la pause, Vertical Equipment était le commanditaire principal de la soirée.

La finale Jiffy Auto Service a vu une paire de #66 sur la première ligne alors que Kyle Dingwall prend les devants sur Carey Terrance. Dingwall mène les 11 premiers tours alors que Terrance le surprend utilisant une voiture retardataire alors que Biran McDonald regarde au 3e rang.  Une première neutralisation survient au 15e tour. À la relance, Terrance reste premier alors que Bruno Lepage a des ennuis avec sa voiture au tour suivant. Terrance connaît une excellente relance et se sauve du peloton. Terrance mène les derniers tours pour remporter sa première victoire de la saison devant Dingwall, McDonald, Gage Morin et Stéphane Lafrance complète le top 5.

 

Rosco Garreau fut le meneur dans la finale Pro-Stock Home Hardware. Garreau mène les 3 premiers tours alors que Roch Aubin le dépasse et Jocelyn Roy roule bien en 3e. Roy tombe 2e alors qu’Aubin a une bonne avance sur le reste du peloton à la mi-course. Aubin toujours le meneur sur Roy et Dave Bissonnette maintenant au 3e rang avec 5 tours à effectuer. Aubin remporte la victoire devant ses deux adversaires.

Jasmine David et Billy Cook mène le peloton de 22 Sportsmans pour la finale de 20 tours Tracy Wheeler Storm Realty. Thomas Cook prend les commandes de sa 3e position alors que David perd la maîtrise de sa voiture dans le 3e tournant et la course est ralentie. Cook le meneur alors que Dillon Sallows est 2e avec Joey Ladouceur derrière lui. Une excellente bataille survient pour le 3e rang alors que Corey Wheeler obtient cette place au 7e tour. Le vainqueur de la semaine dernière Shane Pecore est maintenant dans le top 5 à la mi-course alors que Ladouceur revient 3e et dépasse rapidement Sallows pour la 2e. Cook a de la compagnie en première alors que Ladouceur s’attaque au meneur lorsque David Andre s’arrête dans le droit arrière. Cook résiste aux charges de Ladouceur et remporte sa première victoire en carrière dans la catégorie Sportsman.

Kevin Fetterly Jr, a mené les 15 tours de la finale Luminacorr Semi-Pro et remporte sa première victoire de la saison à Cornwall devant Junior Delormier et Anthony Perron.

Dans la finale de 12 tours Mini-Stock, Francis Desjardins prend les devants sur Marc Chartrand et Sylvain Frenette. Desjardins mène la première moitié de la finale mais se fait surprendre lors d’une relance par Francis Blanchette qui prend les devants et mène la dernière portion pour remporter sa première finale de la saison sur Desjardins et Jean-Francois Pagé

Les pilotes Sportsman et Pro-Stock, auront une soirée importante dimanche prochain alors que la série DIRTcar sera présente pour les 2 divisions. Chaque finale sera d’une distance de 50 tours. Un programme complet dans les autres catégories sera présenté.

Autograph and photo this Sunday night at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Thursday, May 22, 2014 – Martin Bélanger – A great night for the whole family is scheduled this Sunday at it will be Autograph and Photo Night at Cornwall Motor Speedway. A full program is on the schedule for all 5 divisions on Vertical Equipment night.

Race fans will be invited during intermission time to come and meet their favourite drivers and will have the opportunity to chat, take photos of cars in the infield. Fans will also have the chance to walk around the speedway. This event is also popular on driver’s side as they prepare cards or photos to give out to children and fans.

On the race track, a full show is on the schedule as all 5 classes will see some action.

In the Jiffy Auto Service Modified category, drivers will be in a heated battle to gain valuable points toward the championship title left vacant by Mario Clair. Look for drivers such as Joel Doiron, Stephane Lafrance, Laurent Ladouceur, Chris Raabe, Carey Terrance and others to be on top at the end of the 30-lap event.

In the Tracy Wheeler Storm Realty Sportsman, local star and last week`s winner Shane Pecore, will look to get win #2 of 2014 but competition is strong in this category.

Dave Bissonnette is already in a good position to repeat his 2013 title by finishing second to Stephane Lemire in last week`s event. Bissonnette will need to be consistent all year long as George Renaud, Jocelyn Roy, Marc Lalonde and Stephane Lebrun have eyes on the title also.

The Luminacorr Semi-Pro and the Mini-Stock division will be in action with 15 and 12 laps feature events.
