Carey Terrance collects his fifth win of the year at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, August 17, 2014 – Martin Bélanger – The Cornwall Motor Speedway was back in action this Sunday evening with a full program in all divisions along with the Bandit Motorsports Pro-Stock Dash for Cash. Jim Performance Plus was the main sponsor of the night.

In the 30-lap Jiffy Auto Services Modified Feature, Kyle Dingwall took the lead over Gabriel Richer and Laurent Ladouceur. Joel Doiron made his way up in the top 3 on lap 4. With 9 laps completed, Dingwall had a full stretch lead over Ladouceur as Lance Willix slowed the field down by stopping in turn 2. Dingwall in the lead when Brian McDonald went off the speedway while in battle for third and yellow was out on lap 12. With 1 lap shy from halfway point, an accident involving 3 cars occurred in the backstretch, all the cars were able to move on their own power. Dingwall had another strong restart over Ladouceur and Chris Raabe now on the last step of the podium. Ladouceur surprised Dingwall on lap 25 restart as Carey Terrance is on the charge on the high side moving up to second. Terrance made a perfect slide job on Ladouceur on the final lap and collected his fifth feature of the season over the veteran Ladouceur and Dingwall finished third.

Jasmine David led the way in the 20-lap Wheeler-Forget Royal Lepage Sportsman Feature as Ricky Thompson used the outside lane to pass David on the second lap. Thompson checked out in the lead as Justin Lalancette brought the caution at the halfway point. Thompson in front as Corey Wheeler moved up to third after starting in the 13th spot with 5 laps to go. Thompson in front with Wheeler and Joey Ladouceur now running in third as Wheeler charged Thompson in the final lap but Ricky Thompson headed to victory circle for the first time this season over Wheeler and Ladouceur.

In the 20-lap Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock feature, Charles-David Beauchamp wasted no time and grabbed the lead on lap 3 from Trevor Gaucher. George Renaud used a lap 7 restart and passed Beauchamp for the lead as Jocelyn Roy was in contention. Beauchamp went back in front at the halfway point with Roy and Renaud in battle for second. Beauchamp resisted to final charge from Roy and got his second win of the season over Roy and Renaud completed the podium.

A dozen cars took the initial green in the 15-lap Laminacorr Semi-Pro Feature; Adam Delormier was strong in front as Bruno Richard quickly jumped to second after starting in seventh spot. Patrick Lalonde went airborne and landed on Derek Cryderman`s hood and the red flag came out on lap 6, both drivers were ok. Delormier stayed in front with Pascal Racette moving up to second. Delormier led the entire time and won his first event of the season over Racette and Junior Delormier.

Jean-Francois Page was the early leader as he got passed by Chris James as the first caution came out on lap 4. Francis Desjardins was able to get by James as Elisabeth Gauthier was in third at halfway point. Desjardins led the final portion and won his second event of the season over James and Gauthier.

A very busy Sunday next week as a total of 6 classes will be on hand with the Sprint Car challenge between the Patriot and SOS association, a special 35-lap Sportsman event, the visit of the Vintage and SpeedSTR division and a regular show in the Pro-Stock and Mini-Stock.

Carey Terrance récolte une 5e victoire cette saison au Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – dimanche 17 août, 2014 – Martin Bélanger – Le Cornwall Motor Speedway était de retour en compétition en dimanche avec la présentation d’un programme complet dans toutes les divisions en plus d’un cash-dash Bandit Motorsports en Pro-Stock. Le commanditaire principal de la soirée est Jim Performance Plus.

Dans la finale de 30 tours Jiffy Auto Service Modifié, Kyle Dingwall prend les devant sur Gabriel Richer et Laurent Ladouceur. Joel Doiron monte au 3e rang après 4 tours de complétés. Au 9e tour, Dingwall a vu son avance d’un droit complet sur Ladouceur fondre lorsque Lance Willix s’arrête dans le 2e tournant. Dingwall aux commandes quand Brian McDonald ralenti le peloton en s’arrêtant dans la 2e courbe alors qu’il était en compétition pour la 3e place au 12e tour. Avec 1 tour avant la mi-course, un accident survient impliquant 3 voitures, toutes les voitures ont pu repartir. Une autre excellente relance pour Dingwall sur Laurent Ladouceur et Chris Raabe maintenant au 3e rang. Ladouceur surprend Dingwall lors de la relance au 25e tour alors que Carey Terrance semble avoir la voiture la plus rapide et tombe au 2e rang. Terrance effectue un dépassement parfait dans la dernière courbe et remporte une 5e victoire en 2014 devant Ladouceur et Dingwall.

Jasmine David mène le peloton de la division Wheeler-Forget Royal Lepage Sportsman alors que Ricky Thompson utilise la ligne extérieure pour dépasser David au 2e tour. Thompson a une excellente avance quand Justin Lalancette apporte la neutralisation à la mi-course. Thompson toujours premier alors que Corey Wheeler est maintenant au 3e rang après avoir parti 13e avec seulement 5 tours à effectuer. Thompson à l’avant avec Wheeler et Joey Ladouceur maintenant 3e après avoir débuté la finale en 13e position avec 5 tours à faire. Wheeler effectue une dernière charge mais Thompson parvient à rester devant pour filer au cercle des vainqueurs pour la première fois de la saison devant Wheeler et Ladouceur.

Dans la finale de 20 tours Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock, Charles-David Beauchamp ne perd aucun temps et prend les commandes sur Trevor Gaucher au 3e tour. George Renaud utilise une relance au 7e tour et dépasse Beauchamp avec Jocelyn Roy tout près des meneurs au 3e rang. Beauchamp revient à l’avant à la mi-course alors que Roy et Renaud sont en bataille pour la 2e. Beauchamp résiste à une dernière charge de Roy et remporte sa 2e victoire de la saison devant Roy et Renaud qui complète le podium.

Une douzaine de voitures ont pris le départ dans la finale de 15 tours Semi-Pro Laminacorr Semi-Pro. Adam Delormier était très rapide au départ alors que Bruno Richard prend rapidement le 2e rang lui qui a parti du 7e rang. Patrick Lalonde effectue un tonneau et atterrit sur le capot de Derek Cryderman et le rouge est lancé au 6e tour, les 2 pilotes n’ont subi aucune blessure. Delormier demeure en tête alors que Pascal Racette est maintenant 2e. Delormier mène la course entière et remporte sa première victoire de la saison devant Racette et Junior Delormier.

Jean-Francois Page fut le premier meneur mais se fait dépasser par Chris James tout juste avant la première neutralisation au 4e tour. Francis Desjardins réussi à dépasser James alors qu’Elizabeth Gauthier est 3 e à la mi-course. Desjardins mène la dernière portion pour remporter une 2e finale cette saison devant James et Gauthier.

Un dimanche très occupé le weekend prochain avec 6 catégories en piste incluant un challenge Sprint Car entre les associations Patriot et SOS, une finale special de 35 tours en Sportsman, la visite des Vintages et SpeedSTR en plus d’un programme régulier en Pro-Stock et Mini-Stock.

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, August 10, 2014 – Martin Bélanger – The Cornwall Motor Speedway presented a full show for all categories along with a special 25-lap Mini-Stock event on Cayer Motor Sales.

Gage Morin was the early leader in the 30-lap Jiffy Auto Services Modified Feature event as Chris Herbison and Laurent Ladouceur were quickly behind the leader. Herbison used the high lane and passed Morin for the lead outside of turn 4 on lap number 6. The leaders were in lap traffic by lap ten and Herbison got caught behind a lap car as Morin used this situation to grab the lead on lap 13. Morin was able to get a good distance from Herbison as Chris Raabe was now running in third with 5 laps to go. Morin never looked back and won his first feature of the year in the caution free event over Raabe who made a final lap pass on Herbison for second.

In the Wheeler-Forget Royal Lepage 20-lap Sportsman feature as Mitch Primeau took the lead over Ricky Thompson and Jean-Nicholas Gareau in third. The feature went for 3 laps as Louie Jackson and Jasmine David tangled in the backstretch and yellow was out. Primeau still the leader as Robert Delormier was on the move as he took the lead on lap 7 just before a caution came out for an accident involving point’s leader Corey Wheeler. Delormier to the lead but had issues with his mount at halfway point slowing down and giving the lead to Mike Maresca as Shane Pecore was now in second. Maresca in front with Justin Lalancette in third as Wheeler slowed in the backstretch with 6 laps to go. Pecore did not waste any time and took the top spot over Maresca on the restart. Pecore went on to capture his 4th feature of the year over Lalancette who made a pass in the final turn over Maresca who completed the podium.

Rosco Garreau lead the field in the 20-lap Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock feature as Marc Lalonde used the high side to pass Garreau for the lead on lap 3. An accident occurred on lap 5 slowing the field down. Lalonde in the lead as several cars were in battle for the second position.  Dave Bissonnette made his in way in the lead pack and used the top side to pass Lalonde for the first position on lap 13. Bissonnette led the final laps to win his third event of 2014 over Lalonde and Stéphane Lebrun.

A strong field of 16 cars were on hand for the 15-lap Laminacorr Semi-Pro feature as Nick Gauvreau was the early leader; Gauvreau led the first 3 laps. Derek Cryderman and Junior Delormier swapped the lead in before Cryderman claiming the lead at halfway point and never looked back to win his third event of the season over Pascal Racette and Kevin Fetterly.

The 25-lap Mini-Stock feature was the first event of the evening with a field of 15 cars taking the initial green. Riley McGonagle took the lead as Jean-Francois Page was running in second. The first caution occurred on the fifth lap for Quincy Roberts. Marc Dagenais was strong and took the lead on lap 7 over McGonagle. Dagenais survived several cautions as invader Quincy Roberts made his way up to second spot with 5 laps to go. Roberts made a charge on Dagenais but he could not pass him and Dagenais went to collect his second feature of the season over Quincy Roberts and Chris James completed the podium.

Next a full show in all five divisions as the Pro-Stock will have a special Dash for Cash sponsored by Bandit Motorsports.
