Morin, Pecore, Bissonnette Cryderman and Dagenais winners at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, August 10, 2014 – Martin Bélanger – The Cornwall Motor Speedway presented a full show for all categories along with a special 25-lap Mini-Stock event on Cayer Motor Sales.

Gage Morin was the early leader in the 30-lap Jiffy Auto Services Modified Feature event as Chris Herbison and Laurent Ladouceur were quickly behind the leader. Herbison used the high lane and passed Morin for the lead outside of turn 4 on lap number 6. The leaders were in lap traffic by lap ten and Herbison got caught behind a lap car as Morin used this situation to grab the lead on lap 13. Morin was able to get a good distance from Herbison as Chris Raabe was now running in third with 5 laps to go. Morin never looked back and won his first feature of the year in the caution free event over Raabe who made a final lap pass on Herbison for second.

In the Wheeler-Forget Royal Lepage 20-lap Sportsman feature as Mitch Primeau took the lead over Ricky Thompson and Jean-Nicholas Gareau in third. The feature went for 3 laps as Louie Jackson and Jasmine David tangled in the backstretch and yellow was out. Primeau still the leader as Robert Delormier was on the move as he took the lead on lap 7 just before a caution came out for an accident involving point’s leader Corey Wheeler. Delormier to the lead but had issues with his mount at halfway point slowing down and giving the lead to Mike Maresca as Shane Pecore was now in second. Maresca in front with Justin Lalancette in third as Wheeler slowed in the backstretch with 6 laps to go. Pecore did not waste any time and took the top spot over Maresca on the restart. Pecore went on to capture his 4th feature of the year over Lalancette who made a pass in the final turn over Maresca who completed the podium.

Rosco Garreau lead the field in the 20-lap Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock feature as Marc Lalonde used the high side to pass Garreau for the lead on lap 3. An accident occurred on lap 5 slowing the field down. Lalonde in the lead as several cars were in battle for the second position.  Dave Bissonnette made his in way in the lead pack and used the top side to pass Lalonde for the first position on lap 13. Bissonnette led the final laps to win his third event of 2014 over Lalonde and Stéphane Lebrun.

A strong field of 16 cars were on hand for the 15-lap Laminacorr Semi-Pro feature as Nick Gauvreau was the early leader; Gauvreau led the first 3 laps. Derek Cryderman and Junior Delormier swapped the lead in before Cryderman claiming the lead at halfway point and never looked back to win his third event of the season over Pascal Racette and Kevin Fetterly.

The 25-lap Mini-Stock feature was the first event of the evening with a field of 15 cars taking the initial green. Riley McGonagle took the lead as Jean-Francois Page was running in second. The first caution occurred on the fifth lap for Quincy Roberts. Marc Dagenais was strong and took the lead on lap 7 over McGonagle. Dagenais survived several cautions as invader Quincy Roberts made his way up to second spot with 5 laps to go. Roberts made a charge on Dagenais but he could not pass him and Dagenais went to collect his second feature of the season over Quincy Roberts and Chris James completed the podium.

Next a full show in all five divisions as the Pro-Stock will have a special Dash for Cash sponsored by Bandit Motorsports.

Morin, Pecore, Bissonnette, Cryderman et Dagenais vainqueurs au Cornwall Motor Speedway!

 

Cornwall, Ont – dimanche 10 août, 2014 – Martin Bélanger – Le Cornwall Motor Speedway présentait un programme complet dans toutes les catégories incluant une finale spéciale de 25 tours en Mini-Stock, le tout une présentation de Cayer Motor Sales.

 

Gage Morin était le meneur dans la finale de 30 tours Modifié Jiffy Auto Services alors que Chris Herbison et Laurent Ladouceur était derrière le meneur. Herbison utilise la ligne extérieure pour dépasser Morin au 6e tour dans le 4e tournant. Les meneurs se retrouvent parmi des voitures plus lentes au 10e alors que Herbison se fait prendre dans ces conditions et Morin en profite pour reprendre la tête au 13e tour. Morin réussi à se distancer de Herbison alors que Chris Raabe est maintenant au 3e avec 5 tours à faire. Morin ne regarde jamais à l’arrière et remporte sa première victoire de la saison dans cette finale sans neutralisation devant Raabe qui a dépassé Herbison au 2e tour.

 

Dans la finale de 20 tours Sportsman Wheeler-Forget Royal Lepage, Mitch Primeau est aux commandes devant Ricky Thompson et Jean-Nicholas Gareau en troisième. La finale roule pour 3 tours quand Louie Jackson et Jasmine David, s’accrochent dans le droit arrière et le jaune sort. Primeau toujours premier alors que Robert Delormier a une excellente relance et parvient à dépasser Primeau au 7e tour tout juste avant que le drapeau jaune est lancé pour un accident impliquant le meneur dans les points Corey Wheeler. Delormier à l’avant poste mais a des ennuis à la mi-course et offre le premier rang à Mike Maresca avec Shane Pecore maintenant 2e. Maresca premier avec Justin Lalancette au 3e rang quand Wheeler ralenti dans le droit arrière avec 6 tours à effectuer. Pecore n’a pas perdu de temps et prend la tête sur Maresca à la relance. Pecore récolte ainsi une 4e victoire cette saison devant Lalancette qui devance Maresca au fil d’arrivée.

 

Rosco Garreau mène le peloton de 20 tours Pro-Stock Alexandria Home Hardware alors que Marc Lalonde utilise la ligne extérieure pour dépasser Garreau au 3e tour. Un accident survient au 5e tour ralentissant le peloton. Lalonde premier alors que plusieurs voitures sont en bagarre pour la 2e place. Dave Bissonnette fait son chemin parmi le groupe des meneurs et utilise la ligne extérieure pour dépasser Lalonde pour la première au 13e tour. Bissonnette mène les derniers tours pour remporter sa 3e victoire de 2014 sur Lalonde et Stéphane Lebrun.

 

Le meilleur peloton de la saison avec 16 voitures était présent dans la finale de 15 tours Laminacorr Semi-Pro. Nick Gauvreau était le meneur durant les 3 premiers tours. Derek Cryderman et Junior Delormier, s’échangent la première place avant que Cryderman prenne le premier rang pour de bon à la mi-course, ce dernier récolte sa 3e victoire de la saison devant Pascal Racette et Kevin Fetterly

 

Dans la finale de 25 tours en Mini-Stock, un peloton de 15 voitures a pris le départ initial. Riley McGonagle prend les commandes devant Jean-Francois Pagé. La première neutralisation survient au 5e tour pour Quincy Roberts. Marc Dagenais a une voiture rapide et prend les devants au 7e tour devant McGonagle. Dagenais demeure premier malgré plusieurs neutralisations alors que Quincy Roberts monte au 2e rang avec 5 tours à faire. Roberts se rapproche dangereusement de Dagenais dans les derniers instants mais ce dernier résiste et remporte une deuxième victoire cette saison devant Roberts et Chris James.

Back in action this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Friday August 8, 2014 – Martin Bélanger – Action will continue at Cornwall Motor Speedway this Sunday evening with a full program along with a 25-lap Mini-Stock event.

With his 4th win of the season Carey Terrance gained some valuable points on leaders Chris Raabe and Stephane Lafrance. These two competitors only have 4 points between them. Terrance will need to continue his great streak being at 26 points behind Raabe. There is only 3 nights left counting toward the Jiffy Auto Service Modified Championship.

In the Wheeler-Forget Royal Lepage Sportsman, Corey Wheeler and Shane Pecore are still in a heated battle for the top rank in the division. Wheeler having built himself a slim 10-point lead over Pecore after last Sunday race event.

Dave Bissonnette is looking strong leading the way in the Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock having a 26-point lead over Stephane Lebrun as Rock Aubin is on the backbumper of Lebrun with 2 points behind the Gatineau, Quebec driver. A 20-lap feature is on the schedule.

The Laminacorr Industries Semi-Pro are back in action this Sunday for a 15-lap finale. The Mini-Stock will have a special 25-lap event that should attract extra competitors.

General admission price will be 10$ for adults, 5$ for Seniors 65 years and over, kids under 16 admission is only 2$ with the pits at 23$. General admission gates will open at 5:30pm with racing starting at 7pm sharp!
