Super DIRTcar Big Block Series to cap off 2017 this Sunday at Cornwall Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Friday, September 15, 2017 – Martin Bélanger – Cornwall Motor Speedway will end 2017 in great fashion this coming Sunday, September 17 as the Super DIRTcar Big Block Series will be in town with a 100-lap event along with a 50-lap Sportsman Feature and a special 35-lap race for the Pro-Stock.

Always a popular stop at Cornwall, the Super DIRTcar Big Block Series will end a very busy weekend after making stops at Brewerton on Friday and then Mohawk on Saturday, we expect a good field of cars in town as approximately 15 regulars on the tour will make their way up to the speedway along with other drivers from Quebec and Ontario who will be present such as Steve Bernard and David Hebert, who already confirmed they will use their big block powered cars on Sunday.

The battle for the Super DIRTcar Series supremacy is heated between three drivers as Billy Decker leads the way over Larry Wight and Matt Sheppard. Missing two events because of suspension, Sheppard is currently on a mission to capture a sixth title.

The Tracy Wheeler Assist2Sell Sportsman division will have a 50-lap event, again a good field of cars is in the plan as Series race will be run over the weekend in the area and several of the drivers will be tempted to run for a good pay at Cornwall. A special presentation will be done after the feature as we will announce the amount collected during the Race for the Cure Sportsman Series. The Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock, are also on the schedule for 35 laps.

More than $14,000 in prizes will be distributed amongst the drivers that competed in all the events at Cornwall in their respective classes; draws will be done during intermission time.

For this coming Sunday, the pit gates will open at noon with a cost of $45 and the general admission will open their doors at 1:30pm with a cost of $35 for adults, $18 for seniors and $5 for kids 16 years old and under. Practice is scheduled to start at approximately 4pm, qualifying rounds will follow right after.
