Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, April 30, 2017 – Martin Bélanger – The rain that has fallen on the Cornwall Motor Speedway during the last few hours has forced promoter Raymond Lavergne to cancel the practice session scheduled for Tuesday, May 2nd.
Mother Nature’s bad habits during this Spring did has slowed track preparation as the crew were only able to start last week as the grounds were too soft to permit the use of heavy equipment.
Combined to the addition of new clay during last fall and the lack of time to prepare the racing surface, it was deemed to cancel to avoid unnecessary potential equipment damage to the race teams. Weather permitting, the track preparation crew will be busy in working in the track to have the best surface possible for the season opener schedule for this coming Sunday, May 7th.
