Cornwall Motor Speedway postpones the program to Sunday, July 6.

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, June 22, 2014 – Martin Bélanger – A great evening of racing at Cornwall Motor Speedway for twin 40 laps feature races as a full program was on the schedule on Seaway GM Performance Night.

Justin Desrosiers led the way in the 12-lap Mini-Stock feature as the first caution came on lap three for an accident in turn 3. On the restart, Marc Dagenais had a strong start and grab the lead but Desrosiers charged back and gained the top spot with 5 laps to go as yellow came back out. Dagenais was good again on the restart and passed Desrosiers for first. With one lap to go, a severe accident occurred and the red flag was thrown making the event official.

Due to the nature of the injury, the Ontario Provincial Police have taken the track for investigation; the rest of the program will be run on July 6 before the start of the regular show on that evening. We will update you on the condition of the driver during the week through a release, due to the investigation; Cornwall Motor Speedway is not allowed to divulgate any information.

One of the biggest shows of the year will hit Cornwall next Sunday as the Super DIRTcar Big-Block Series will be here for their annual visit with all the big stars and cars in competition for 100 laps. A full show will also be on the schedule along with a firework show to celebrate Canada Day in fashion.
