Mother Nature forces postponement of opener at Cornwall
Cornwall, Ont – Sunday May 19, 2013 – Martin Bélanger – Unfortunately, Mother Nature is the first winner of the season at Cornwall Motor Speedway as a steady mist started to fall on the speedway at the same time as the gates opened at 3:30pm. As the mist changed to rain, officials had no choice to cancel tonight’s racing program and postpone the 3 series race.
The first race of the Canadian Nationals will be run next Sunday as the Modifieds will have a 100-lap feature race along with a complete race program on Squire Shop night as the fans will be able to meet their favourite drivers at intermission time for photos and autograph night.
The DIRTcar 358-Modified Series has been postponed to Sunday August 4th in conjunction with the 2nd race of the Canadian Nationals; the event will be 100-lap distance.
The inaugural race of the Mohawk Race Parts Pro-Stock Series will be run on June 2nd as the DIRTcar Pro-Stock Series will make a stop to Cornwall.
Race fans and drivers that we present at the speedway tonight, we advise you to keep your ticket as it will be valid for next Sunday night.
