Gage Morin wins at Cornwall Motor Speedway
Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, August 29, 2010 – Martin Bélanger
A fine field of 23 cars took the green in the 30-lap Modified feature. Youngsters Gage Morin and Matt Billings were on the top row with Billings taking the early lead but Morin came back and took the lead on lap 2. Morin was strong in front with Lee Ladouceur now second followed by Joel Doiron. Morin caught slower cars with 10 laps in the books. A good battle for third between Doiron and Stéphane Lafrance at the halfway point as Eric Gauvreau brought the first caution out on lap 18 as he stopped in the backstretch. Cornwall Motor Speedway Cancels August 22nd Show
Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, August 22, 2010 – Martin Bélanger
For
a third week in a row, Cornwall Motor Speedway needs to cancel his
racing program because of inclement weather over the Cornwall area. A
complete race program with all 5 divisions was on the plate, the
Modified, Sportsman, Pro-Stock and Semi-Pro had regular events with the
Mini-Stock having a 25-lap feature race on a night that was sponsored by
DBS. Another
full show is on the schedule for next Sunday at Cornwall with regular
events for the Modified, Sportsman and Pro-Stock, the Semi-Pro and
Mini-Stock will have special 25-lap feature race on Jones Brown
Insurance night. With
not much action during August, the next 2 weeks will be important for
championship points. In the Modified, there is only 1 week left to gain
points with Sunday, September 5th being a show up point`s night with the
Jiffy 150. Laurent Ladouceur leads the way with 667 points, 19 points
ahead of Danny O’Brien and 35 points in front of Tim O’Brien in
third spot. Kyle Dingwall with 625 points and Carey Terrance with 623
points rounds out the top 5. Chris
Raabe is currently first in the Sportsman class with 438 points, veteran
Chris Herbison comes in second spot with 416 points, Randy Earl is third
with 393 points, and Shane Pecore is fourth with rookie Jeff Philips in
fifth place. The
Pro-Stock drivers only have one week left of regular points with the
last race of the Mohawk Race Parts being presented on September 5th and
also being a show up points night. Joey Ladouceur is on top of the class
with 666 points, a margin of 18 points ahead of Louie Jackson and 20
points from Corey Wheeler in third. Ghyslain Valade and Dave Bissonnette
complete the top 5. Veteran
driver, Gaetan Amesse currently has the lead in the Semi-Pro points
title with 372 points, Kevin Fetterly is second with rookie Junior
Delormier completing the 3rd step of the podium. Ronnie Tyo has comfortable lead in the Mini-Stock class with 104 points ahead of Martin Bernard in second and Ben Nurse is in third spot. A lot of action is expected in the next couple of weeks in all five classes! weather on the program for August 15 at Cornwall Motor Speedway!
Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, August 15, 2010 – Martin Bélanger
Early afternoon showers and inclement weather for the rest of the day over the Cornwall area forced promoter Ron Morin to cancel the Squire Shop’s Complete Race Program that included all five regulars divisions of Modified, Sportsman, Pro-Stock, Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock as the headline modified class had a special roofless feature race. Action will be back on the track next Sunday with a complete race program with all the divisions in action with regular events for the Modifieds, Sportsman, Pro-Stocks, Semi-Pro and the Mini-Stock will have a special 25-lap event race. Come and see some of the best racing in Eastern Ontario and with only 3 nights of racing left for the championship titles, we can expect for some heated rivalries on the track in all categories. Nature wins the August 8 show at Cornwall Motor Speedway
Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, August 8, 2010 – Martin Bélanger
Early afternoon showers and inclement weather for the rest of the day over the Cornwall area forced promoter Ron Morin to cancel the Snap-On tools Complete Race Program that included all five regulars divisions of Modified, Sportsman, Pro-Stock, Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock. Action will be back on the track next Sunday with Roofless night for the Modified class, fans will be able to see the drivers worked their cars around the track and this will add some flavour to the 30-lap feature race. The Semi-Pro will have a special 25-lap feature race as the Sportsman, Pro-Stock and Mini-Stock will also be on the racing card sponsored by The Squire Shop.
